Lost In Austen LitCube Review

Image
Hey Lovies! Long time, no post! But I promise this post will be worth the wait because what a dozzey this post is. OMG where do I start? Okay so rewinded a few months ago in July, the subscription box Litcube was having an exclusive One Time only called "Lost in Austen" box. Now, as you can tell by some of my post in the past that I am a huge Jane Austen lover, not to mention that I've been following Litcube forever so I thought I would give it a try. Not to mention the fact that ChickLit Design (which I love) was suppose to partner with them, which it a-mazing! With all those factors I paid 45 dollars for a box that would arrive in September. It's October. Now, Litcube has had a lot of problems between July and now. The partner ship with Litcube and ChickLit Designs fell through because the company that was making there product scammed them out of a lot of money. Not to mention the whole hurricane Matthew thing. LitCube has been through a lot. And, while I was re...

First day of work Selfie + Mod Cloth Stylish Surprise

Image
Hey lovelies! Sorry for the looooong hiatus, this summer has been a little...odd. My last semester of college was a little...stressful and I think I took the summer to really process everything.  I was also going through a lot with my relationship, so it was really hard to put on a happy face for the blog.  But, I do have good news! After almost four summer, I finished the first draft of my novel There's going to be a lot of editing and a lot of hard work to make this perfect, but I'm excited about the next steps in this journey. In other news, I started my new job yesterday! I am a professional Reading and Writing Tutor at the community college I used to go too before getting my bachelors. It's weird being back on campus not being a student, but looking hella like a student. Also I'm hard core missing SUNY Potsdam, so it made me miss it more. But here is my first day of work outfit. Someday I would like to take a picture where I am not looking low-key miserable a...

Sense and Sensibly stylish

Image
Hey lovelies! I'm back with part 2 of my Jane Austen fashion series! I'm going to do another one of my Austen favorite: Sense and Sensibility. This is Jane's first published work and my first attempt a men's fashion! So lets get to it! (Psssttt: If you missed Pride & Prejudices click here ) Elinor Dashwood Elinor Dashwood is the one with the common sense in the Dashwood group. She's the one who keep a level head, even when her man was being shady as hell. Elinor doesn't want any fancy bright color, she was comfy shoes and a nice handbag. Marianne Dashwood Oh Marianne, what ever are we going to do with you? You are straight up the typical teenage stereotype: Head over heals for the charming bad boy and almost die when he dumps you. Marianne is youthful, so the sky-high heels, flower dress, and this cute purse go great with her personality. Sire she grows up at the end, but right now she's forever young. Edward Ferrars Out of all of Jane Auste...

What would Jane Austen Characters wear today?"

Image
Hey Lovelies! As some of you may have guessed, I'm kinda a book nerd (okay I'm a HUGE book nerd) and one of my favorite authors is Jane Austen. I adore Persuasion and Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books of all time. I love these characters so much that I got to thinking "What would these women wear today?" So, I broke out the old Polyvore account ( Flymetothemoon ) and decided to create my own outfit for I think these character's would be wearing in 2016. I'll be starting first with Jane Austen most recognized novel Pride and Prejudice . Elizabeth Bennet  Okay, Lizzie Bennet is a straight up English major. There is no if, ands. or buts about, if Lizzie Bennet was around in 2016 she would totes be hanging out in the English lounge, reading her Lit homework and shhh other people who are talking to loud. I feel like Elizabeth is an easy going girl when it comes to style and doesn't like to fuss. Skinny jeans, converse, and ...

What you do when life is not what you expected

Hello lovelies. Sorry for being a little MIA here. So much as been going on in my life lately, like the fact that I'm a college graduate now! Well, technically I was already a college graduate from Community College, but now I have Bachelors in Fine Arts in Creative Writing at SUNY Potsdam! *throws confetti* And that's all great and everything but now I'm thinking...what comes next? Which explains the title of this post. Okay, I'll be honest, I'm in a tiny bit of a crisis mode. Let me backtrack here, I'm almost always  in a tiny bit of a crisis mode, but this crisis mode is sponsored by: the upcoming, scary-as-hell future. So, as I mention before a couple times on the blog, I had been looking at graduate schools. Well, I got into three of them: Matthanville, Emerson, and The New School. For anyone who knows me in real life, knows how much I loved Emerson College. It's located in Boston and it's absolutely m dream school. I wanted to go there since high...

SARCASM IN HEELS TURNS ONE TODAY!!!

Image
Hey lovelies! I was looking at some of my old post and I realized that this blog is a year old today!! ONE WHOLE YEAR!!!!! And nothing says happy birthday quite like a clip art cupcake. Look at that. Doesn't that almost look life effect? Seriously guys, I'm really excited about this! It's been a whole year with this year, and what a year it's been. I started this blog a year ago, semi-peer pressured by Kat after telling her that I always wanted to start a fashion blog. I was in a really interesting place in my life. I was really depressed, a not so great relationship was ending that I was really sad about and I didn't want I was doing and felt like I didn't have an choices in life. This blog became a great outlet to be creative and write; it was a fun outlet for for me.  Now, while I'm still dealing with depression and body image issues, I feel like I'm doing better. I have an amazing group of friends, a wonderful boyfriend (who I met afte...

Mod Cloth's Stylish Surprise review!

Image
Hey Lovely's! Happy April! Starting the month off right and doing a blog post, no fooling! (come on, you knew there be puns). I'm going to be doing a second review in a row!(Gasp).  This on is for Mod Cloth! (Screams)  This is the beautiful photo that greeted me  four days ago when I was checking my Instagram in the library instead of proofreading my paper (whoops). For those of you who are not familiar with mod cloth  it is a super cute, online clothing site where you can buy vintages dresses. For the past like year or so I have been lusting after one of these dresses but they go for around 80 bucks and it made my wallet cry. So you could say I was pretty happy when I saw this unexpected surprise . Basically what the Stylish Surprise is is a thing that Mod Cloth does  a few times a year where it gives you the option of buying a totally random clothing item or shoes for ridiculous cheap. This time is was 20 dollars for a dress, 20 for apparel and 15 f...
