The Book(ish) Box Review!
Hey Lovelies! Elle here with a product review!!! Back in November, I subscribed to The Book(ish) Box after my friend Kat (Life As Kat) recommended to me when she subscribed to Owlcrate. After looking at the website I fell in love with it because it combines my two great loves: Fashion and books! Anyway, It finally came today!!!
Background:
The Book(ish) Box is a monthly subscription from Appraising Pages Shop. Every month you get a shirt by the Appraising Pages Shop thats exclusive to the Book(ish) Box and 3-5 fashion, home or beauty items that are book related. The box cost 29.99 plus tax and shipping. You receive your box normally on the 10th of each month and get billed on the 20th of the month. You can cancel or skip your subscription at any time.
Okay onto the actual review!
Intro:
The Book(ish) Box I subscribed to is the December box where the theme is Cozy up and Read which I thought was super cute. My box actually came later than it was suppose. The boxes were suppose to be shipped on the December 10th but on the 10th I got an email from the owner, Justine, saying that they were going to be delayed because the physical boxes were delayed being made or something. It was annoying because I had given them my college address and by the time it would be delivered I would be home for break. Luckily, Justine was super nice and said I could change it on my account so that was easy.
Unboxing
The Box was beautifully wrapped and had a little card on the front telling you whats in your box and wheres each item from, which is really nice. I also really like the colors they use to wrap it in because it's my favorite color.

Appraising Pages-Shirt
I was both super excited and super nervous for the shirt. One of the reasons I subscribed to the Book(ish) Box was because I like getting a good shirt. I'm currently starting a collection in my wardrobe of book related shirt (the number is now at 10). But I was nervous because 1)I ordered a Women's small and was worried that it wouldn't fit because I'm always worry about smalls not fitting. 2) Their shirts are always beautiful design(The Edgar Allan Poe one from their October Box is my favorite) but I was worried that the quote on the shirt would be from a book I haven't read or have read and didn't like and I would be a phony for wearing it. Luckily the shirt fits great! It's tight in the chest area(which I like because I like having nice tit days) and loose in the tummy area which is comforting. I wish it was a V-neck because I like V-necks better but it's still a nice shirt. I also really like the quote on the shirt! The quote is from Stephen King book On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, which is actually my favorite Stephen King book. I really enjoy the quote so I'm glad I have it on a shirt!

Coffee Reading Writing: Wintery Reading Coffee Mug
When The Book(ish) Box first announce their theme for December on instagram they linked the site www.coffeereadingwriting.com for one of the items that's going to be in the box. I was super excited because my three favorite activities are: coffee, reading and writing. I really love this mug because I cannot epresso to you enough on how much I've bean longing for more coffee mugs, I have, like, 3 mugs maybe, and I drink a latte coffee and hot chocolate so mugs are greatly needed. This mug is super cute and represents the feelings I have 97 percent of the time. Oh, it also comes with the coupon code for 15% off at coffeereadingwriting website so that super cool!
Comfy Cozy Scarf: Hand Knitted Coffee Cozy
When I first saw this, I was super confused by it because I didn't know what to do with it. I tried to put it on my new coffee mug but it wouldn't fit because of the handle. I read the card again and learned that it goes on those to-go cups you get when you order coffee, instead of using the paper sleeve, which I guess is eco friendly, but I feel like I would forget to put it on. Still, I like the Carpe Librum, life motto yo.
Novel Adornment: A bookish ornament
I thought this was really cute, especially for Christmas. Basically it's an ornament that filled with strips of words from up cycled pages of The Glass Castle that are no longer suitable for resale. I love The Glass Castle so this is a good fit for me. Side note: There's been a theme with Creative Non-Fiction books in this box, is this fate trying to tell me to apply to Creative Non-Fiction program for my MFA? Ugh I'm to tired to worry about signs, Next!
Hello World Paper Co: Gift Tags Inspired by Harry Potter
I'm super happy that there's a Harry Potter theme item in this box, even it it's just gift tags. Still gift tags, but they're Harry Potter gift tags. I don't have that much to say about these. I'm not going to use them for gift tags because I don't use gift tags. I'll probably just use them a book marks, which is fine.
Conclusion:
Overall I thought this was it pretty cool box. The shirt and the mug are worth 32 bucks so I got my moneys worth on those which is cool. Plus the shirt is an exclusive to this box only so it's like a collectable. The mug is also not on sale at the coffee reading writing Etsy shop so it's also a collectable. The other 3 items together are estimated at around 22 bucks, give or take so the box is worth 54 bucks that I got for 30, so that's cool. I probably won't use the cozy, but everything else I'll use or keep.
Because of Grad school application fees I have to skip next month box, which is disappointing because January theme is Mysteries and the shirt is most likely going to have a Sherlock quote on it. Still, I haven't canceled my account yet like I planned on so that's an endorsement. If I have the money, I would probable do Book(ish) Box again or try Owlcrate because it was really fun to get these random little gifts to yourself. It's nice, I would do it again!
Until next time Lovelies!
