Hey Lovelies! Elle here with a product review!!! Finals Week is over!!!!

FREEDOM!!! SWEET FREEDOM!!!! Finally done with finals week and out of New Canada! By some miracle I have survived and live to blog another day. This finals' week was more of a struggle to get through then former finals weeks, mainly because I had to edit and re-edit my Capstone project.  A Capstone is a project that all creative writing majors have to do at my college when they get into COMP 490: Writing Supervision. It's kinda like a senior thesis. Students can do a book of poems, a collection of short stories, a novella or part of a novel. It just has to be 50,000 words or more. I decided to do part of the novel I've been working on for a couple of years now.(92,000 words long total).  This was after I had tried, and failed to write a number of short stories that would equal 50,000 (note to creative writing majors: a short stories is about 3,000 words a piece, give or take a thousand. You cannot write enough short stories to equal 50,000 in three month. Trust me.)

A review of a semester according to outfits.

Image
Hey Lovies! It's Elle here, your fashionably late fashion blogger. College life has been super stressful lately that I've kinda been neglecting this blog. Well, not completely neglectful, I have wearing a ton of cute clothes and giving other people fashion advice...just not published. Well, I'm changing that and going to try to start publishing more content at least once a week. Or Kat will shame forever. Anyway, I thought I'd start my weekly post with something simple: A very long #ootd for the whole semester. Granted the semester isn't over yet but I thought this would be a good way to get the ball rolling (don't judge me) Working Girl I'm a tutor at my college writing center. I LOVE my job but sometimes my clients don't show up so it's the perfect time to take work selfies!! Left and Center: I call this my french mime outfit. I always really enjoy simple black and white color combo so this outfit is a favorite of mine. The long sleeve

Hey lovelies! Sorry I've been a little MLA, I've been super duper busy getting ready to go back to New Canada and TURNING 21!!! WHOOT FINALLY ADULT, SO OLD!!! Anyway....I'm also happy to say that I just started my senior year at college! It feels like every two years I'm graduating from something. I'm completely nervous about the dreaded real world coming closer and closer on my horizon, but I've chosen to look on the more positive things like my amazing new town house I'll living in this year with three awesome girls, and my wonderful PR internship that I have at school. But don't worry, I'm still fashionable as always! Take a look at my #ootd  OMG WHY DID JUMPSUIT GO OUT OF STYLE IN THE 70'S?!?! They are legit the most perfect thing and I have no idea how I managed to live my life without them for so long. They are so comfy and so cute and its like a cute, adult oneie! Please jumpsuit, never leave the fashion world again you are a pleasure.

How to pack for college!

Hey Lovelies! Summer is coming to a close now (cry face) which means...BACK TO SCHOOL! Currently I'm getting ready for my senior year of college (Ugh I feel so old). So I'm in the mist of the fresh hell that is packing up all my crap. Which reminds me of my first time packing for college last year (horrible flashback). So I'd thought I'd give you some handy hints on packing for college, whether you're a freshman or a transfer student going to sleep away college for the first time (like I was) and hopefully save you from heartache and overpacking. 1) Know Yourself I want you to first take a deep hard look at yourself (and your wardrobe). What do you like to wear, what do you feel comfortable in? What are your fashion staples? If you're the kind of person who wears the same three shirts everyday, then don't pack a lot of stuff because your just going to wear the same three shirts. Now, I know you're probably saying "But Ellen I'm going to chang

Am I Boho yet?

Image
Hey Lovelies! Back again for the third installment  of my Am I....yet? series. Only one more left after these O M to the G! This week I'm going to talk about the Bohemian style of fashion also known as Boho. Boho fashion is very carefree, flowey and fun! Think woodstock or gyspie like fashion! Some fashion icons for this look are... Celebrity Nicole Richie   High School Musical Star Vanessa Hudgens Now that we found our inspirations lets talk colors! Color Palette  Brown  Green  Turquoise and blue  white  Basically you wanna go with Earthy tones, colors that appear in nature. Clothing Items  Here are some Boho clothing items that are groovy. Peasant tops Maxi dresses/skirts  Jumpsuits  Flare leg jeans (light wash) Boyfriend Cardigans  crop tops  Bell sleeve dresses  Faded "vintage" tees Accessiories  Head-wraps  Gladiator sandels  Floppy Brim hats  Turquoise jewelry (rings, necklaces, bracelets) Hanging earrings   Necklaces you

Am I Preppy yet?

Image
Hey Lovelies! Welcome back to the second post of the Am I...yet? series! I'm so happy and trilled about the feedback that I have received from first post and hope for many more, I love when people comment on my posts! Also you can always create you're own preppy or edgy looks and post them on instagram using the hashtag #sarcasminheels. I would love to seed how you rock your style! Anyway onto the post. The term preppy comes from  private, university-preparatory or  prep  schools that rich young students usual attend. Think of it as school chic or Old money high. There is some class and  tradition that go hand and hand with this style. While when we think preppy we tend to think of it as dressing like a snob or spending a lot of money.(As if!) Neither of those things are true. You can dress preppy without breaking the bank and there is no fashion rule saying you look and act sweet.  Some pop culture examples of the preppy style are.... Gossip Girl Queen B Bair Waldorf

Am I Edgy yet?

Image
Hey fashion friend! Ellen here with a new blog post set called the "Am I... (blank) yet?" series where I'll give you tips and tricks on how to become a certain style whether it's preppy, boho, retro, and today's style...edgy! The edgy style request comes from my best friend Kaitlyn. Okay so there are a ton of media examples of the edgy dress style. There's Jenny Humphery from the TV show Gossip Girl (also real life Taylor Momsen) Singer and actress Miley Cyrus and Singer/Actress Demi Lovato These and other famous figures can be your guide or "fashion icon" for you to get inspiration for your own outfits. Now lets get down to business of being on the edge. First you need to get color palette set. Color Palette Know the edgy style has four  main colors: Black  White Red  Gunmetal grey These are the colors that you'll wear the most in this style because they're dark and go great together. You can occasional add a dar

Trends for July!

Hey fashion friends! So for the long time, no post. I've been super  busy working on my novel and crying over Go Set A Watchman (Don't worry you'll here all about it--Or maybe you should be worried) Anyway here are my trends for July!! Jumpsuit I love 70's fashion! I loved That 70's Show and American Hustle mainly because of the fashion, my favorite being jumpsuit which I'm super happy is coming back in style. They're so perfect! It's both a shirt and pants so you don't have to waste all that energy putting them on separately! Jumpsuit are prefect for going out to dinner, running errands or just hanging out with your girls! Lace shorts  Okay, I'll admit it, I wasn't the hugest fan of lace shorts when I first saw them. The first few I tried on were baggy and the lace wasn't where I quite wanted it. However, I've grown to love this trend! July is shorts weather, no if, ands or buts about it and while denim shorts are great an

What your favorite print says about you!

Hey fashion friends! Elle's here! Now I'm the kinda girls who loves prints: leopard print, houndstooth, polka dot,I love them all! The thing I love as much as prints is personality test, so I've decided to take my love of prints and my so of personality quizzes and make a fashion personality assessment! With my B+ in community college Psychology and my A+ in Fashion this is sure to be solid A so lets get started. If you wear a lot of.... Animal print(leopard, zebra and giraffe: oh my) :  You're a wild child. You're bold, loud and proud and you don't care who knows it! You're very independent and you like to do you're own thing. You can been very flirty and love to go out and take a little walk on the wild side. Sometimes you can be a bit to outrageous and you're rebellious nature can put people off but don't let that bother you; all of those traits just makes you the King/Queen of the Jungle. Houndtooth: You're  intelligent!   You

Happy Solstice everyone!

Image
Hey Fashionistas! Happy father day/Solstice! Hope you're all enjoying the longest day of the year.  Todays' an #ootd day (throws confetti) because I actually remember to take a photo of myself (oops) It's actually easier to take photos at school because I usually have someone who tolerates me enough to take my picture (aka Kat) At home...not so much. So for the next couple of months my #ootd will not be the best. But hey, maybe I'll learn...maybe. I call this outfit my modern Audrey Hepburn outfit. Now, for everyone who has ever met me knows that I love Audrey Hepburn. In my mind she is a true Goddess of fashion. She is so stylish, so classy, so... effortless . Something I strive for in my own fashion choices. WWAD: What Would Audrey Do? This outfit is a nod to that. To start off with I Love  black and white as a color pattern. Simple, but it works. Audrey was famous for the little black dress but inside of a dress I used high waisted polka-do

Springtime fun with coffee, friends and kittens!

Hello everyone! I'm back with another post! I'm a day late with this post(though technically I wanted to do a post every week so technically I'm six days early but whatever). I was going to type it up yesterday but something kind of crappy happened to me last night that I won't share in this post but maybe I'll share in another blog post(stay tuned...). Anyway, Onto the show! So yesterday was one of those rare nice days in New Canada(the ones I often hear rumored about) so me and my friends Jenn and Kat decided to go for a walk around town to get ice coffees from Stewarts. Now, for those of you who don't know what Stewarts is (like everyone else in the world who doesn't live in Upstate New York) it's like a really cool kind of connivance store that has the BEST  coffee and ice creams known to man.  Look how glorious it is! This is only a large! I usually only drink my coffee black(like my soul) but I decided to shake it up and get a carmel ice coffe

Welcome to Heel Season! (also Welcome to my blog)

Image
Hello world! I'm Ellen and welcome to Sarcasm in Heels! I'm here to take you on this wild and crazy ride where we talk about fashion, books, life, witchcraft and anything else my crazy mind thinks up, and all with a little bit of humor. Right now the topic is SHOES!! (cue the shoe song from youtube). But we're not just going to talk about any run of the mill shoes, we're going to talk about, you guessed it, high heels shoes. Now, you're probably asking yourself, why the hell is this girl talking about high heel shoes? Well, I love them! For a short gal like me (5'3) they're kind of a heaven sent. I'm actually normal height, like a real person! You know, someone who can get things off the top self without needing to jump #shortgirlproblems. But that's not the only reason why I wear high heel shoes. I just like how they make me feel, not physically, because sometimes those babies hurt like hell, but they make me feel good on the inside . I feel so co
